Tin Can Purses

The weekend of September 18, I went off to The Ranch, center for Art, in Snohomish, WA for another weekend of creating, this time, to create bags and purses out of tin.  I like tin, because it is easy to start with recycled materials, and there are tins everywhere, from in your pantry to in your Christmas box.   To prepare, I went to goodwill to find some raw materials, but I ended up using a coffee can that Randi already had, because I was attracted to the bright colors.  the class was taught by Marlene True see http://www.marlenetrue.com/brooches for some samples of her work.

Here we are working with a table full of potential materials.  Andy Cooperman in the background, who came just to visit, Randi in the middle.

Here I am thnking about what to put on the ends. so far, no feet, no handle, no hinges yet.
