Brenda Schweder taught a steel wire jewelry class at The Ranch in Snohomish, WA on January 21 and 22, at the right is the cover of her book that she just published.
We did 2 days of technique workshop and one day using those techniques to do a patterned project.
Steel wire is very cheap and versatile, you can get it at the hardware store, it comes in many sizes, and allows you to hammer, bend, cut, and form it into many shapes. In a way it is like drawing with wire.
The same size steel as copper is harder and stiffer, so that it's easier to make a pin back for example.
at the right is a simple neck wire, with a shell that has been caged in a basket like weave with the wire.
